Big Girl!!!

Swimming with Daddy & my friend Olivia!

Reading, Reading, Reading!!!

Happy Girl! :)

Shortly after the last post, Kayleigh took off walking (on her own). Now, she is walking everywhere and is into everything! She is getting pretty fast and is almost running. I guess everyone was right- she would do it when she was ready. Kayleigh is also heading toward another milestone:potty-training. Her Nana (my mom) bought her a princess potty and she loves sitting on it and reading her books. So far, she has gone #2 twice! She really could care less, she just wants to read!!!

Easter 2009

At the Zoo

2 Dresses for 2 Easters!!!

Coloring Eggs
Well,
As usual, we had 2 Easter Celebrations!!! We had breakfast with Stephen's family, headed home for a very short nap, and headed off to my family for lunch! It's nice that we are able to visit with both sides, even though it makes for a busy day. Kayleigh had 2 cute dresses to wear, one for each event (thanks to her Nana)!!!

We also took Kayleigh to the zoo for the first time. She knows some animals from her books and toys, but was more interested in the kids running around. We bought a family pass, so we will go several times throughout the year.

Kayleigh saw an orthopedic specialist about her legs (her feet were turning WAY out when she was cruising) and he said everything was fine and she should be walking perfectly very soon. She always had her legs folded when I was pregnant and her muscles/tendons formed a little differently...but no big deal. She has taken many steps on her own, but flinches and lacks confidence (and balance). I am sure that once she figures it out, she will take off RUNNING!!! What a character!!!

First Haircut

First Haircut!!!

Snuggle Bug

Kayleigh had her first haircut in January. It was nothing fancy, just a trim- her bangs were in her eyes. She sat very still and didn't even really seem to notice! Kayleigh still is not walking on her own; hopefully she will before preschool!!! She is very cautious and won't even try to stand or walk by herself! However, she spends most of her day standing (holding on to something), cruising, and playing with her toys. So, we will wait patiently and hope she gains the confidence...SOON!!!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

2 adorable dresses for 2 BIG celebrations!!!

David dressed up as Santa for the kids

Cruising Princess!!!

Well,
Christmas has come and gone and another year is here! We had 3 wonderful Christmas celebrations- Christmas Eve with Karyn's extended family (about 30 people), Christmas morning with her family, and Christmas night with Stephen's family. We were very busy, but also very blessed to have so many people to celebrate with! Kayleigh did pretty good, but is in a serious "Mommy" phase. She whines and cries and pulls on Mommy's pant legs until she is picked up- it's so much fun!!! She is a good girl, but a "Daddy" phase is welcome anytime! Her molars are coming in and that has caused quite a bit of discomfort and fussing :(
She is still not walking alone yet, but is cruising like crazy- any day now!
We hope that 2009 is a great year for everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

This was Kayleigh's 2nd Thanksgiving, but the first one when she actually ate turkey. She loved it so much, she ate it twice! We ate lunch at Karyn's family and dinner at Stephen's. Needless to say, a lot of turkey was eaten! Kayleigh wore her pretty dress and had a very hard time crawling, thanks to her tights (the dress didn't help either!). She also had tons of fun playing with her cousins and was out cold by the end end of the day. We also learned that Kayleigh's hair is long enough for pig tails, the front part at least. It's amazing how a simple hair style can make her look like a little girl!!!

1st Birthday Take 2!!!

Well,
Kayleigh's second 1st birthday party went very well! We had one party for family and friends and a second for our work family. They were both at the same place, which made it much easier. Kayleigh behaved very well and seemed completely unaware that everyone was there for her! She did not eat either of her cakes, even though they were DELICIOUS!

She also had her one year check-up (and shots-ouch). They gave her the dreaded MMR, Chicken Pox vaccine, and did a TB test on her poor arm. She handled them all very well and only cried for a few minutes. Kayleigh weighed in at 24 lbs 11 0z and 29 inches long. That means that in her first year she has gained 17 lbs 9 oz and 9 inches in length! She continues to crawl all around the house and gets into everything!!! She's a good girl overall, so I guess we will keep her!

It's Official!!!

Well,
Kayleigh is 1 year old today!!! Can you believe it?!? We had her first of two parties today (yes two! One for family and friends and 1 for our work family). She did a great job, despite the fact that she only napped for 40 minutes today! Kayleigh was a birthday diva!

Also, there are some pictures from Halloween. Did anyone have any wagers on her costume? This costume was a beacon on the shelf! We set out for a Super Baby, but Stephen said this was meant to be. Maybe next year, Daddy!!! Enjoy!
