What a Wonderful Christmas!

Well, we now know that you have not experienced Christmas until you have a child. We had so much fun! However, we must admit that we are exhausted. After celebrations at Karyn's extended family Christmas Eve, Karyn's parents on Christmas morning, and Stephen's family on Christmas night, we are ready for some rest! Enjoy the pics!

1 Month Check-Up

Kayleigh loves to stick out her tongue!

Giving a smile!

Well,
Kayleigh had her 1 month check-up and is THRIVING!!! She weighed 8 lbs 13 oz and was 21 inches long. This means that in the last month, she has gained nearly 2 1/2 pounds and a whole inch in length! So, we know Mommy feeds her well! We love her pediatrician-he is fabulous...thanks Lourdes for the recommendation! Her eyes are hazel and change color depending on her outfit. She holds her head up well and is becoming more alert and active everyday. She has started cooing and smiling like crazy and is a happy baby. Her night time sleep seems to be improving a little and we hope that by the time Karyn goes back to work, she will be sleeping "normal" hours instead of crashing out at 4:00 a.m.

Sleepless in Songerland

Well, I (Karyn) learned a valuable lesson! Never brag too soon about how wonderful your new baby is...cause it doesn't last! For the first 2 weeks, she was a dream baby. She slept ALL the time and had to be forced awake to feed. Then, it happened!!! She got her days and nights mixed up and was wide awake (and very demanding) from 12:00 a.m until 4 or 5 a.m. This went on for 8 nights and was so exhausting because I have a hard time sleeping during the day (despite being out of my mind tired!). Last night she went back to sleeping in 4 hour blocks, but I am NOT bragging, just hoping she is back on track! Any suggestions/solutions from moms out there? :) In all honesty, she is a good baby and I wouldn't trade any of it! I am just looking forward to getting a little more sleep!

More Good Stuff

A little over two weeks have gone by and so far so good! We have learned that simple tasks such as going to the store, going out to eat, or even just watching a movie take a lot more time and preparation! We appreciate all of your support and remember that visitors are always welcome! Enjoy the pictures!

I'm Sleepy.

Karyn and I are enjoying every minute with our little baby girl Kayleigh. Although her sleep schedule is extremely unpredictable, she is being a good baby for us. So far not too many problems other than Daddy spoiling her at all times. Anyway, here are some more pictures, so enjoy!

We are having so much fun with our new addition to our family. Sleep is non-existent of course, but she is being pretty good to mommy and daddy. We definitely enjoy having visitors, and there have been plenty of them. Hope everyone is doing well and the three of us send all of our love!

She's Here!

Kayleigh Marie Songer was born on November 1, 2007 at 7:28 PM. She weighed 7 pounds, 2 ounces, and was 20 inches long. Mommy and daddy are very relieved and proud to say the least. Karyn is doing just fine (well for a woman who has just given birth!) and I am doing my best to take care of her and our new daughter. We have had a lot of help from Julie (Karyn's mom) and a lot of visitors. We are floating on air right now and are so happy that our little miracle is finally here!
